The island is 36 miles long and 15 miles wide at its widest point in the North. Mount Pantocrator is located in the centre of the island and stands 998 meters high.
The North-East part of the island is filled with shingled beaches and sheltered rocky coves, offering secluded bays and traditional fishing villages. The North and South parts of the island are filled with stretches of sandy beaches and commercialized tourist resorts. The West coast offers spectacular views of the sunset off of the magnificent cliffs and horseshoe beaches.
The hot summer months of July and August are the most popular times to visit Corfu. The weather is hot and sunny, all the island’s facilities are operating at full swing and many friends could be made from around the world.

If you are looking for fewer crowds, June and September are ideal. The weather is milder than the hot summer months but still suitable for lounging on the beach. Visiting Corfu in the winter months could be a very interesting experience, as you get the full feel of how the local people of Corfu live.
