Corfu has a lot of small traditional villages. These villages are all over Corfu some of them still have people live in and some of them are empty and none lives there anymore.

Corfu Town

Corfu town is the capital of Corfu island and is one of the most historical, beautiful and elegant towns of Greece. Corfu town is the largest and the most populated towns of the Ionian Islands with over 50.000 inhabitants. The Corfu town has a unique architecture and that is by the many centuries of dominations by the French, English, Russian, and Sicilian. Everyone left something to Corfu.

Agios Matheos

Agios Matheos is a mountainous village located 25 Km South west of Corfu town. Agios Matheos has a population of 1.500 inhabitants. The most of them are living from agriculture.

Benitses

Benitses village is located 14 Km south of Corfu town and it has a population of 800 inhabitants. This village used to be a fishing village but in our days very few are living from fishing.

Paleokastritsa

Paleokastritsa is the one of the most famous villages of Corfu. Is located 26 Km Northwest of Corfu town. The main beach of Paleokastritsa is the most popular one and it is surrounded by bars and restaurants. From there you can admire the beautiful shapes of the rocks or you can get a boat which will tour you around the many caves in the area.

Gouvia-Kontokali

These two resorts are the first of the north of the Corfu town. The kontokali resort is located 8 Km away from Corfu town and Gouvia only 10 KM. These to villages has the marina of Corfu town which welcomes many yachts all the year.

Dasia

Dasia is at one of the first villages of the north of the Corfu. Dasia is situated only 15 KM away from the Corfu town. At Dasia you can find almost everything.

Kasiopi

Kasiopi village is located 38KM north of the Corfu town.
Kasiopi is a small traditional fishing village with 1200 inhabitants. A myth says that Nero the known Emperor of the Roman Empire build the fortress of this village.

Leykimi

Leykimi village is located at the southeast part of the island. Leykimi village has a big history. Leykimi is the first most populated village after the Corfu town with 5000 inhabitants. Leikimi village has a variety of beaches, accommodation, restaurants and of course bars.

Pelekas

Pelekas is an authentic corfiot village located 13 KM of the Corfu town. This village is very small but it is an access point to many beaches, also it has its own beach with the same name. This beach is a medium size beach with various restaurants, bars and cafes.

Agni

Agni village is situated at the north of the Corfu town. Agni village is very small with few taverns. This village is known because of its beach which offers many thinks to do.

Ayliotes

Ayliotes village is located 50 Km from the Corfu town. Ayliotes village is a small village with 1.600 inhabitants build on a hillside. The village of Ayliotes is very traditional and it has keep the traditional way until our days. Is one of the villages at the Corfu island that has keep that.

Lakones

This village is located to the west side of the Corfu island and its near Paleokastritsa village. This village is very small the main road is running through the middle of the village.

Messonghi

This village is located 25 KM south of the Corfu town. Messonghi village is not the mass tourist village infarct this village is a quiet fishing village.

Moraitika

This village is located 14 KM south of the Corfu town. This village is a touristic village and it offers a lot of opportunities to the visitor. The village is build and made for the tourists so you find everything; It has a variety of bars, restaurants, cafes, super markets, clothes stores, gift stores e.t.c.

Petriti

Petriti village is located 32Km south east of the Corfu town. Petriti village is a litlle carming fishing village with few small harbors. The village throw years has updated and gives to the tourist whatever desire. The village of Petriti has a variety of taverns, bars, restaurants and accommodation and you can choose what is the best for you. The inhabitants are welcome every visitor to their village and they are ready to give their best for the visitor to have a nice stay.

Ypsos

Ypsos village is what we call the best village for the ages from 18 to 35;; The village of ypsos has restaurants, cafes, but the best of all is the bars. At ypsos village you can dance all night and the morning you can go to the beach for your swimming. The bars of Ypsos village has many happenings, each bar has its own special happening but almost everyone has foam parties.
